Career

Called 2010. Hannah McSorley is a leading junior family law specialist with a strong commercial sense and a reputation for calm confident advocacy.

Most of her work is in family finances – where she represents people from all walks of life robustly, sensibly and with empathy. Hannah is confident dealing with HNW individuals, as with more modest cases and will give clear advice and fight tenaciously where needed.

Hannah is a finance specialist who deals with all aspects of financial relief on relationship breakdown including applications brought under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, Schedule 1 to the Children Act 1989, the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and the Inheritance (provision for family and dependents) Act 1975. She is confident in drafting pleadings and dealing with complex trust and company documents and has a particular interest in cases involving intervenors.

Hannah advises parents and Guardians in private law proceedings relating to children.

Hannah has a busy public law practice and is experienced in cases concerning the full range of public law matters including physical and sexual abuse, non-accidental injury, domestic violence, over-chastisement, drugs and alcohol, chronic neglect, mental health and capacity issues. Hannah has frequently represented extremely vulnerable parties and is committed to the publicly funded bar.

Hannah takes on some pro bono work, via Advocate.
