Haim authored hundreds of articles covering his fields of expertise and published in Israeli economic newspapers, including Globes, The Marker and Calcalist. Many of them are available in Hebrew and English on law.co.il, one of Isreal's first websites which Haim operate since 1996.

Personal

Haim received an acknowledgment award from the Israel Chamber of Information Technology for pioneering and innovation in the Israeli internet. Haim Ravia founded Ravia & Co. — Israel's first law firm dedicated to the legal aspects of the internet – which he later merged with Pearl Cohen. He is the founder of law.co.il, Israel's first legal website, established in March 1996. Operating to this day and updated daily, the site covers AI, Internet law, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, computer law, regulation of technology, Intellectual Property, open-source software, electronic signatures, and communications law.

Work Highlights

Privacy & Data Protection: Haim advises clients on Israeli and international data protection matters, including GDPR, cross-border data transfer frameworks, and the requirements of Israel’s Privacy Protection Law (PPL). He builds practical compliance frameworks and represents clients before Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority (PPA).

Cybersecurity: Working alongside business, product, security, and compliance teams, Haim builds comprehensive cybersecurity legal frameworks and counsels' clients on the legal implications of cyber incidents, regulatory obligations, and incident response.

Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technology: AI is a central pillar of Haim’s practice. He advises clients on AI governance, regulatory compliance, and the legal risks arising from AI system deployment - from product design through to regulatory scrutiny - providing forward-looking guidance that anticipates legislative developments across multiple jurisdictions.

Technology Transactions & Digital Contracting: Haim advises on IT and data-related contracts, digital contracting frameworks, and electronic signature compliance — addressing authentication, security, and enforceability requirements for online and cross-border transactions. He brings depth and out-of-the-box thinking to technology-related due diligence in M&A contexts, assessing data protection posture, cybersecurity risk, IP ownership, and software licensing exposure.

Copyright & Digital Rights: Acting for prominent rights holders and other major rights holders, Haim advises on licensing, digital distribution, and enforcement.

Experience

Haim has played a formative role in shaping Israeli technology law. He chaired the Israeli Bar Association’s Computing Committee Presidium, represented the Israel Bar before Knesset committees on electronic signature legislation, represented clients before Knesset committees in numerous occasions, served on the Ministry of Justice’s Public Commission for the Protection of Privacy and participated in a governmental working group that re-examined Israel’s regulatory framework for databases containing personal information.

He also founded the Israel Data Protection Officer Forum, a platform for privacy professionals to exchange knowledge and engage with emerging regulatory and technological developments — a contribution that reflects his longstanding commitment to the development of the privacy profession in Israel.
