Career
With over 20 years of experience, Gustavo focuses his practice on capital markets, financial innovation, and investment funds, providing legal and regulatory assistance to local and foreign clients in the constitution and management of investment funds in Brazil and abroad, including in offshore structures, as well as syndicated and project finance transactions. His expertise includes advising investment banks, institutional investors, Brazilian and international economic groups, individuals, asset managers, fiduciary administrators, securitization companies, besides the structuring of infrastructure projects, through structured debt operations, involving particularly renewable energy. He is a member of TozziniFreire’s ESG Group, working on sustainable finance, and of the Green Finance Laboratory of CVM (Brazil´s Securities and Exchange Commission). Beyond giving lectures, authoring articles, and sporadically teaching classes, he worked for almost 10 years in different areas for BNY Mellon (The Bank of New York Mellon), especially in investment funds and structured transactions. Previously, he also worked at law firms in England and China, living in Europe for three years and in Asia for four years.
