Gregory Bauer

Gregory A. Bauer (Greg) is a leveraged finance attorney in Ropes & Gray’s Chicago office. Greg focuses his practice on commercial lending transactions and routinely represents equity sponsors, borrowers, institutional investors, lenders and mezzanine funds in secured and unsecured lending transactions and debt placements.

Greg has structured, negotiated and documented financing transactions of various types, including senior, mezzanine and subordinated debt placements; acquisition facilities; asset-based loans; venture capital financings; sponsor lines of credit; and general working capital facilities. He also has negotiated debtor-in-possession and other bankruptcy-related financings, workouts, restructurings and secured party sale transactions.

In addition, Greg regularly advises private equity clients and other borrowers on all aspects of acquisition financing, recapitalizations and portfolio restructuring transactions, including sponsors focused on distressed mergers and acquisitions and turnarounds.
