Career

Founding partner of Mendes Advocacia & Consultoria, where he leads the Labor practice across advisory, consulting and litigation work. He has built his career on Individual and Collective Labor Law, with particular emphasis on union negotiations and collective bargaining. Alongside his practice, he is a university professor of Labor Law and Labor Procedure in the Law undergraduate program at CESUPA, and a professor in the postgraduate program in Civil and Labor Procedural Law (CESUPA/ESA). He regularly delivers lectures and training sessions on labor matters for executives and company teams.

Professional Memberships

Member of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB). Member of the Trabalho Decente (Decent Work) Research Group at CESUPA, dedicated to academic discussion and production on decent work as a set of workers' human rights. Coordinator of the Advanced Group for Studies and Research in Collective Labor Law.

Author and organizer of several books and articles on Labor Law. Books include "Os sindicatos no Brasil e o modelo de democracia ampliada" (LTr, 2018) and "Direito do Trabalho brasileiro: inovações e perspectivas" (Lumen Juris, 2018), as well as the organization of works on social rights during the pandemic. Recent articles address the effects of tax reform on collective labor relations and the impossibility of disregarding fundamental rights (Revista dos Tribunais Online, 2023), and democracy and unionism in contemporary times (Revista LTr, 2021). He has also written book chapters on collective bargaining, data protection of workers under collective norms, and the theory of precedents in labor procedure.

Felipe Prata Mendes combines legal practice with an active academic life, teaching and researching in the field of Labor Law. His doctoral and master's research focused on collective bargaining and union models, reflecting a long-standing commitment to the study of collective labor relations and decent work.
