Federico Lemos is a Uruguayan lawyer with nearly 15 years of experience advising international banks, investment funds, insurers, fintechs and multinational corporations on complex financial and cross-border transactions. His practice includes corporate financing, syndicated loans, public and private securities offerings, fiduciary structuring, project finance and regulatory advisory.
In Banking Law, Federico regularly advises global financial institutions on credit transactions, regulatory compliance, financial product structuring and engagement with supervisory authorities.
In Capital Markets, Federico has participated in most of the major IPOs completed in Uruguay over the past decade, leading several of them as structuring counsel and advising institutional investors in strategic transactions.
In Fintech, he has led the legal structuring of innovative products for banks, payment platforms, virtual asset exchanges and tech startups, combining strategic vision with deep regulatory expertise.
In Trusts, he has structured financial and real estate trusts exceeding USD 1 billion, including clean energy, forestry, real estate and asset restructuring projects.
In Real Estate, he advises developers, funds and banks on the structuring of residential, commercial and tourism projects, including the revival of landmark developments through trusts and payment restructuring agreements.
In 2011, he collaborated with the Central Bank of Uruguay in the modernization of the regulatory framework applicable to the financial system, capital markets, pension funds and insurance.
Federico complements his legal practice with over a decade of university teaching in banking, corporate and financial law, having taught at Universidad de Montevideo, Universidad ORT and Universidad Católica del Uruguay.
