Fabian is a technology, copyright and data protection lawyer. His ambition is to provide clients with the best and most suitable advice and, in particular, to guide them through their technology transactions, IT and data projects in a pragmatic, solution-oriented and innovative manner.

As co-head of Bird & Bird's international Technology & Communications Group and head of the German Data Protection Group, he divides his time between the Frankfurt and Düsseldorf offices. He specialises in technology, digital media, cloud computing, copyright and data protection law and advises providers and customers on technology transactions, IT projects, data protection and copyright issues. He also drafts and negotiates complex commercial agreements and advises on IT law as well as contractual and regulatory issues relating to digitalisation and cybersecurity. Fabian Niemann has a particular focus on issues arising from the use of new technologies and business models, such as cloud and data-driven projects, IoT, AI and machine learning, and other digital transformation issues.

Fabian is a frequent speaker and interviewee on topics of technology, cloud, digital transformation, data protection and copyright.
