Fabián Aguinaco Bravo has over four decades of experience in constitutional law, amparo proceedings and human rights litigation. He has led Aguinaco Abogados since 1980 and has represented corporate and individual clients in some of Mexico’s most significant constitutional disputes before federal courts, the Mexican Supreme Court, and the Inter-American Commission and Court of Human Rights.

His practice spans highly regulated sectors, including telecommunications and broadcasting, banking and financial services, pharmaceuticals, aviation, insurance, mining, food and beverages, education, construction and real estate. He also advises and represents clients in competition, intellectual property and expropriation matters.

Throughout his career, Fabián has led landmark constitutional cases, including challenges arising from Mexico’s 1982 bank nationalization and exchange controls, the Castañeda Gutman case before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights concerning independent electoral candidacies, and constitutional litigation concerning political advertising during electoral campaigns.

Fabián also maintains an active academic and pro bono practice, representing vulnerable groups, civil society organizations, human rights defenders and environmental advocates in precedent-setting constitutional litigation.
