Elliot Saccucci

Elliot is the co-Head of Loopstra Nixon’s Labour and Employment Group and the Head of its Sports Law Group.

He practices employment law, administrative law, and sports law.

Elliot is a seasoned sports lawyer and arbitrator having worked on some of the most consequential Canadian sports cases of the last decade. He is frequently counsel to professional and amateur athletes, coaches, national and provincial sports organizations, independent third parties, and has acted for various teams, including in the Ontario Hockey League and the National Hockey League. He represents clients in professional and amateur athletic issues, including: salary negotiation; endorsement advice and negotiation; investigations; and arbitrations involving salary, carding, team selection, discipline, and Safe Sport and UCCMS complaints.

He has appeared before the internal tribunals of many provincial and national sports organizations, as well as the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada panel, the Greater Toronto Hockey League Discipline Committee, the NHL/NHLPA salary arbitration panel, various provincial boards and tribunals, the Superior Court of Justice, the British Columbia Supreme Court, the Divisional Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal.

He is a certified agent with the National Lacrosse League Players Association and the Professional Women's Hockey League Players Association, as well as an arbitrator with the Aquatics Integrity Unit of World Aquatics.
