Practice Areas
Eleanor has a diverse civil practice with a particular focus on media and communications law, including harassment, defamation, data protection and privacy. Eleanor also specialises in police law, human rights and civil liberties, education and Court of Protection matters.
Eleanor is on the Attorney General’s Junior Junior Panel of Counsel and often accepts instructions routinely reserved for B/C panel members in her specialist areas.
Eleanor is currently instructed as defence counsel for Mr Helm following a defamatory review of his former builder: Johnson v Helm [2025] EWHC 1546 (KB). She has secured interim injunctions and substantial damages awards in harassment and misuse of private information claims.
Eleanor has successfully defended local authorities facing unlawful discrimination claims pursuant to section 85 of the Equality Act 2010 at the Special Educational Needs Tribunal and regularly represents them at the Court of Protection in health and welfare and property and affairs matters. She also acts for the Official Solicitor and the Public Guardian.
Eleanor’s clients include prominent public figures, local authorities, police forces and government departments.
