Edward Sassower serves on Kirkland & Ellis’ Executive Committee and is a partner in the Restructuring Group. He focuses on representing debtors, creditors and distressed or special situation investors in bankruptcy cases, out-of-court restructurings and acquisitions. He has led some of the largest bankruptcy cases in history across a wide range of industries. Select company-side representations include Northvolt, WeWork, Nordic Aviation Capital, Rite Aid, Intelsat, Envision Healthcare, Ascena Retail Group, Wheels Up Experience, Cyxtera Technologies, Appgate, Gulfport Energy Corporation, Hornbeck Offshore Services, Mood Media Corporation, PetSmart, Acosta, Barneys New York, Toys "R" Us, Westmoreland Coal, Energy Future Holdings, PES Holdings, Ameriforge Group, Sequa Corporation, Midstates Petroleum, Magnum Hunter Resources, Penn Virginia, MSR Resorts, Sbarro, Horizon Lines, Majestic Star Casino, Calpine Corporation, NRG Energy, Muzak and Leiner Healthcare.
