Ed is a highly regarded, award-winning commercial property and construction expert. He specialises in commercial property development, sales and acquisitions, and property joint ventures, including all associated construction and finance work.

Ed's client base is predominantly comprised of institutional property owners, including Goodman, Precinct, Guardians of NZ Superannuation, Auckland Airport, and Scentre Group. Recent deals include acting for NZ Super on the acquisition of Beachlands (250 hectares in East Auckland) through a joint venture; acting for Precinct on its development of Commercial Bay acting for Goodman in connection with the development of the VXV Precinct in Auckland's Viaduct Harbour, its joint venture with GIC and the subsequent sale of the portfolio by the joint venture.

Career

Ed studied at Cambridge University and started his legal career in London, before moving to New Zealand in 1999. He has been a partner with Russell McVeagh since 2004.

Ed is Russell McVeagh's National Practice Group Chair for Property and Construction, and serves on the Ethics Committee.
