Eamon is a partner in the Birmingham office. He qualified in England and Wales in 1993 and as a solicitor advocate (All Courts) in 2006.
Eamon leads the Birmingham insurance team and has considerable experience in handling commercial and construction related claims, professional indemnity claims against solicitors, construction professionals and IT consultants as well as insurance/policy disputes. He acts principally upon the instructions of large self-insureds, London market insurers, national and European composites. Clients also include major insolvency practitioners and corporate clients in connection with insurance and policy issues.
Eamon also acts for insurers in relation to design and construction claims, ranging from multi-million pound engineering disputes to modest claims against architects on domestic projects. His experience ranges from adjudications, to arbitrations and Technology and Construction Court (TCC) litigation, liaising with his colleagues overseas where appropriate.
As a fully qualified solicitor advocate, Eamon has liaised with industry bodies and has addressed the All Party Parliamentary Insurance group at the House of Commons. He is currently the chairman of the professional indemnity group of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL).
Instructed to act for mechanical and electrical engineers being sued by the Cabinet Office for in excess of £1m.
Is instructed in connection with an £8m professional indemnity claim arising out of structural engineers’ alleged negligence.
Acted for a large contractor in proceedings brought by a developer arising out of a major dispute concerning damage to neighbouring property. The matter involved drawing the project consulting engineers into the proceedings and mediating.
Is instructed to act for the insurers of solicitors concerning the handling of a sizeable trust prior to and upon the death of the donor.
Acted for piling contractors in connection within a property damage dispute with losses in excess of £1.5m arising out of the diversion of a canal in the North West, associated with a motorway construction project.
