Regularly instructed on behalf of high profile individuals in all aspects of reputation management including defamation, privacy and data protection.
In Public Law, extensive Public Inquiry practice including those ongoing into the death of Sheku Bayoh, the Covid Inquiry and the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry. Instructed in high profile Fatal Accident Inquiries, including the 'M9' Inquiry. Duncan is a former Standing Junior to the Scottish Government and has appeared in many judicial reviews for and against public bodies. He was instructed in the successful judicial review of the Scottish Government by former First Minister Alex Salmond.
Duncan has additionally maintained a strong practice in Personal injury and Clinical Negligence matters and accepts instruction on behalf of both insurer clients and those pursuing claims in relation to complex and high value cases.
Duncan sits as a Part Time Sheriff and as a Member of the Shrieval Panel of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland.
