Dimitris deals with all types of contentious shipping and international trade matters in the context of both arbitration and court proceedings under English law, including cross-border and trade finance disputes.

He has been involved in numerous charterparty, cargo/bill of lading, shipbuilding, marine insurance, off-spec bunkers, sale and purchase and international trade disputes involving contractual breaches and claims in tort, as well as casualties involving general average, unseaworthiness, abandonment and transshipment considerations.

His experience also extends to advising on drafting issues and settlement negotiations and organising early intervention mediations.

Dimitris also often advises on international trade sanctions.

Further, Dimitris has developed a keen interest in the global efforts towards decarbonisation and is often asked to assist with drafting contractual clauses, including those dealing with a vessel’s CII (Carbon Intensity Indicator), the EU ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme) and FuelEU Maritime.
