Practice Areas

Deeksha specialises in advising clients on all aspects of competition law. Her practice area spans across various sectors, particularly in the technology, auto & auto components, and pharmaceutical space, where she has advised and represented clients on complex and novel competition law issues. She has represented leading technology companies, such as Google, before various forums and acted in India’s only FRAND related competition dispute.

Deeksha is also part of the firm’s Data Privacy practice. Leveraging her existing knowledge of the client’s business and understanding of technology, she has been assisting clients in designing their data policies as per extant law in India, providing risk assessment and remediation advice to clients.

Career

Deeksha is a highly regarded practitioner who inspires trust and confidences in her clients. In 2021, Deeksha is featured in the Global Competition Review’s prestigious 40 under 40 list - 2024 was awarded the 40 Under 40 Rising Star Award by the Legal Era -Legal Media Group. She is also recognised in the Chambers Asia Pacific and Global Guide for 2023. Combining her knowledge of competition law with her litigation experience, she has also acted for clients in various jurisdictional and due process challenges. This includes India’s first challenge to the legality of a dawn raid and a recent challenge against procedural lapses during a DG investigation.

Work Highlights

Represented Google before the competition regulators in India in relation to investigations initiated for alleged abuse of dominant position​.

Acts JCB UK and its Indian subsidiary on various aspects of regulatory compliance.

Successfully obtained a favourable order at a preliminary stage, for Vifor, a Swiss pharmaceutical company in CCI, against allegations of anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominance.

Acted for Clariant in their sale and rollover of the pigments business with a consortium of Heubach Group and SK Capital Partners.

Acted for Bain Capital and H&F in their acquisition of Athenahealthcare Inc.

Represented Bayer in obtaining approval for its acquisition of Monsanto.
