David has a Bachelor of Laws from UNSW (Hons Class I, University Medal) and a Master of Laws from NYU (Competition Innovation and Information Law Program, Frank T. Diersen prize for best performance in the program).
David’s practice is focused primarily on intellectual property and commercial disputes. He has been briefed in a number of the leading intellectual property cases in both the High Court and Federal Court, and regularly appears both led and unled in the Federal Court, Supreme Court and at IP Australia.
David is recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a ‘pre-eminent’ junior counsel in Intellectual Property in Australia and a ‘leading’ junior counsel in Technology, Media & Telecommunications. David is also recognised in Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific, Best Lawyers in Australia and The Legal 500 for his expertise in intellectual property law.
Before coming to the Bar, David was a Judge’s Associate at the Federal Court and a Solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons.
