Practice Areas

A specialist family law practitioner with expertise in children law (public and private) and family finance, David is highly regarded for his forensic analysis and robust approach, whilst striking the essential balance to take account of the sensitivities of any case.

David has a busy children law (public) practice, acting for Local Authorities, lay parties (parents, other relatives / intervenors) and children. David has considerable experience in cases involving allegations of physical and sexual abuse, non-accidental injury, domestic violence, murder, neglect and substance misuse. David has a significant case portfolio where he has represented vulnerable parties with learning disabilities / mental health problems and where the subject children share such presentation. David’s experience extends to cases involving the Official Solicitor.

Instructed on a pro bono basis, David successfully represented the Appellant father in Re Y (Children in Care: Change of Nationality) [2020] EWCA Civ 1038.

David regularly receives instructions in complex children law (private) matters involving child arrangement disputes, relocation cases (internal and international), change of name, and where there are allegations of parental alienation, and serious physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse.

Alongside his family law practice, David has developed an interest in Court of Protection work.
