Born and raised in Oklahoma to a German mother and a Syrian father, Danya grew up in a multicultural home, speaking Arabic, German, and English interchangeably, and spent her childhood summers with family in Germany and Mexico. She brings that multilingual fluency and global perspective to her trial work, which increasingly involves cross-border families and international custody disputes. Travel remains central to her life, both for the cases she handles across the jurisdictions where she is licensed and for the national and international gatherings of trial lawyers she attends.

Her older brother is also a successful lawyer who works at one of the largest white-shoe firms in world.

In 2024, Danya prevailed in a multi-day child relocation trial, resulting in judicial approval of her client's move with a minor child to another jurisdiction.

In 2025, she prevailed in a three-day divorce trial, obtaining a substantial alimony judgment for her client.

Danya is a trial lawyer without equal among her peers, sought out for the family matters that reach across borders, where a family's lives, fortunes, and children are not confined within a single country. Her practice covers international and interstate custody and relocation, cases under the Hague Convention on international child abduction, divorces with assets held across jurisdictions, and the enforcement of foreign judgments. Fluent in Arabic and German, she counsels clients and their families directly, in their own language, with a true understanding of the cultural and legal traditions that a cross-border matter requires.

Danya is equally at home with the financial complexities a substantial divorce presents, from the valuation of a closely held business to the division of assets spread across the world, and with the contests over children that demand the most of an advocate. Her counsel in these matters is grounded in genuine trial experience, including jury trials in cases as grave as the termination of a parent's rights, a distinction held by few in private practice. Where a matter is better resolved away from the courtroom she has secured strong outcomes through negotiation, but it is her readiness to try a case, and to try it well, that lets her negotiate from strength. She built this depth of experience, in work of real consequence, earlier in her career than most lawyers ever do.
