Dan jointly heads the industrial disease and asbestos team. His work includes the following:

- S v Circaprint - highest (then) award for mesothelioma PSLA and established award for loss of husband's affection

- Frith v DECC – successful limitation trial for British Coal 'post-cut off claim';

- Chandler v Cape PLC – successful (on appeal) against parent company for asbestos exposure at a subsidiary factory

- £900,000 mesothelioma claim: gave rise to an Metropolitan Police investigation.

Catastrophic personal injury claims, include:

- £4.235million for RTA including novel quantum issue on the increased cost of living between South Africa and UK

- £2million + settlement for lower limb amputation including 6 different prosthesis.

- Fatal accidents include claim for young man killed by a falling shop sign (£600,000) and claim against NHS trust for young man asphyxiated by nitrogen oxide.

- £2.5 million for man crushed under JCB

- £2.7million settlement plus PPO for paraplegic victim.

Career

Trained with Lawfords, qualified in 2003. Made partner at Leigh Day in 2008.

APIL fellow and accredited Asbestos Disease and Occupational Disease Specialist. Secretary of APIL’s Occupational Health Group 2010-14 and co-ordinator 2014-22.
