Cuiping Zhang is a partner at Nishimura & Asahi and a core member of the firm’s China Practice. She is recognised for advising on complex China–Japan cross‑border matters, with particular strength in mergers and acquisitions and TMT‑related transactions, as well as foreign direct investment, joint ventures, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

Her practice places a strong emphasis on data protection, digital regulation and other emerging regulatory issues in technology‑driven and highly regulated sectors. She is frequently sought out by Japanese and multinational clients for advice on PRC data, cybersecurity and digital regulations, and is known for translating complex regulatory developments into practical, commercially workable solutions.

Prior to joining Nishimura & Asahi, she was a partner at a leading PRC law firm. Clients value her ability to bridge Chinese and Japanese legal systems in multi‑jurisdictional transactions.
