Cornel Popa is a Partner at Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii. in dealing with civil litigation, mediation, domestic and international arbitration. He is one of the main coordinators of the firm’s International Arbitration practice group. In addition to ad-hoc arbitrations, he participated in numerous proceedings under the rules of many of the leading international arbitration institutions, such as ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL and GAFTA. He also took part in hearings before the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.
He regularly acts as arbitrator in cases administered under the Rules of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration (attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania). A further focus of his practice concerns legal advice and representation in construction and engineering disputes.
Other areas of practice include corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas, competition law.
