Crime, Health and Safety

An established leading junior who prosecutes and defends serious and complex cases. Claire has prosecuted fraud cases for over a decade including multi-million-pound VAT and tax evasions. Over the past few years her practice has diversified to include prosecuting and defending those accused of historic sexual offences. She frequently receives instructions in serious sexual abuse cases.

Claire has particular expertise Modern Slavery Act offences and cross over fraud and sexual offence cases. She is a valued and highly rated jury advocate. Many of her cases involve vulnerable witnesses and she is known for her work in this sensitive area.

Since 2006 Claire has prosecuted for the Health and Safety Executive in and outside of the London area. She also provides advice to companies and individuals under investigation by the HSE.

Claire is also frequently instructed by the Metropolitan Police and prosecutes for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

R v Dumitru others – Acting for the Crown in this multi handed Modern Slavery Act prosecution.

R v King and Others – Acting for the Crown in multi-handed conspiracy to facilitate breaches of immigration law.

R v Teresko – Landmark case obtaining cryptocurrency confiscation order.
