Chris is a Partner who specialises in advising police forces on a wide spectrum of matters including misconduct, malfeasance claims, operational advice, governance, regulatory and contractual matters.
Chris joined Weightmans in 2016. Prior to joining Weightmans, Chris worked for several police forces across the southeast in a force solicitor role where he advised officers of all ranks and conducted advocacy in the magistrates’ court, county courts and family courts.
At Weightmans, Chris has worked for and closely with several forces across the country including, as an operational lawyer for a force in the northwest, a regulatory lawyer for forces in the southeast and a litigation lawyer for forces nationwide, including a successful appeal to the Court of Appeal.
Chris also regularly writes articles and provides updates on changes to the law that affect the police. He also provides training on a wide variety of topics. This broad knowledge of challenges affecting the police and his ability to integrate into working closely with police forces led one client to describe Chris as their very own emergency service.
