Chris is a Partner and a member of the firm’s International Trade, White Collar Defense and Investigations, and ESG practice groups. He helps clients solve regulatory, legal and political problems that arise at the intersection of international trade, national security, and foreign policy. He counsels clients on compliance with U.S. export controls (ITAR and EAR), economic sanctions, and foreign investment and represents them before the departments of State (DDTC), Treasury (OFAC and CFIUS), Commerce (BIS), Homeland Security (CBP), and Justice in licensing requests, voluntary and directed disclosures, civil and criminal enforcement actions, and investment reviews. Chris also works with companies and investors to integrate S-Social considerations of ESG into deal and transaction diligence, new product, market and customer reviews, and trade compliance procedures. His clients span economic sectors and range in size from start-ups to Global 500 companies.
