Practice focuses primarily on domestic and international business, transactional, corporate and securities matters, including: organization, formation and management issues; debt and equity financing including public and private securities offerings; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures and licensing; real estate; and franchise, dealer and distributor issues. Industries served include manufacturing, software and technology, agribusiness, private equity, venture capital, investment banking and energy.
Recognized leader within BrownWinick, currently serving as Managing Partner after several years on the firm's Management Committee. Currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Business and Industry, the Workforce Board for the Greater Des Moines Partnership, the Greater Des Moines Partnership's International Trade Council and the Board for Iowa Corn Opportunities. Strategic advisor to the Iowa Economic Development Authority on appropriate structure and operation of angel investor tax credit programs, serves as an expert panelist for VentureNet Iowa and appointed to the Iowa Department of Revenue Innovation Fund Tax Credit Advisory Panel.
Admitted to the bar in Wisconsin in 1993, Iowa in 1994 and a member of the Polk County, Iowa State and American Bar Associations.
