Career
Chris' practice is concentrated in the area of commercial transactions, principally office, hospitality and energy projects (wind and solar). He has significant experience in acquisitions and dispositions of investment properties, commercial financings, structuring partnerships and LLCs, joint ventures, and equity syndications to facilitate the business needs of the firm's clients. He also has expertise in effectuating 1031 tax deferred exchanges in investment properties.
Chris is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and the Idaho State Bar (Real Property and Ethics Sections).
Chris has been selected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America under Real Estate Law. He is a lecturer on commercial real estate and business transaction topics for the Idaho Law Foundation and industry groups and has been a participant in the Georgetown University Law Center Advanced Commercial Lease Institute.
Chris is active in community affairs as a past trustee of the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho, a past president and trustee of the Boise Art Museum and a past president of the Boise Contemporary Theater. He is a past president and past director of the Idaho Historical Preservation Council. He is from northern Idaho and before joining the firm worked in the construction and timber industries. He also spent several years as an artillery officer stationed in Germany.
