Christian Lopes is partner of Vilas Boas Lopes Frattari Advogados with 20 years of experience in Corporate Law, Arbitration, Contract Law, Financial and Commercial Transactions.
Christian Lopes was graduated from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1998). He is a specialist in Corporate and Economy Law by Fundação Getulio Vargas (2000), a Master of Law (LLM) by Columbia University (2002), a Master and Doctor of Law by Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2003 and 2011). In addition to being a lawyer, Christian Lopes has been an Adjunct Professor of Private Law at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais since 2012.
Christian is a member of the Council of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), former director of the Chamber of Corporate Arbitration – Brazil (CAMARB), former director of arbitration of the National Council of the Mediation and Arbitration Institutions (Conima) and member of IBA – International Bar Association and of the Minas Gerais’ Lawyers Institute.
Christian authored the books “Correção Monetária: Tempo e Dinheiro no Direito”, “Responsabilidade pré-contratual: subsídios para o direito brasileiro das negociações” e “Mitigação dos prejuízos no direito contratual”, and co-authored the books “Lei Modelo Uncitral sobre Arbitragem Comercial Internacional: Estudos e perspectivas” and “Arbitragem Comercial Internacional e os 60 anos da Convenção de Nova Iorque”, as well as several articles on Corporate Law, Law of Contracts and Arbitration.
