Band 1
Provided by Christian Park
Christian Park is a Partner at Goel & Anderson, LLC, a business immigration law firm based in Reston, Virginia. Recognized as a Band 1 practitioner in Virginia by Chambers USA, Christian provides strategic counseling to employers on all aspects of U.S. immigration law, regulation, and policy. His practice spans the full spectrum of employment-based immigration, from nonimmigrant visa processing and permanent residency sponsorship to corporate policy design, strategic advisory on employment-based immigration programs, and M&A immigration due diligence.
Christian brings a distinctive background to his immigration practice. Prior to law school, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering on a merit-based four-year full scholarship from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, one of the most selective engineering institutions in the United States. This technical foundation gives him an uncommon ability to engage with the substantive nature of the work performed by his technology and engineering clients, a significant advantage when advising clients on workforce strategy in highly technical fields.
Visa Strategy & Program Management
Christian advises corporate clients on the full range of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, including H-1B, H-1B1, H-3, J-1, L-1 (individual and blanket), E-2, E-3, TN, O-1, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, EB-2 (including National Interest Waivers), and PERM-based EB-2 and EB-3 classifications, as well as adjustment of status, consular processing, INA § 212(d)(3)(A) waivers of inadmissibility, and J-1 waivers (including Conrad 30, exceptional hardship, and persecution-based waivers). His command of this breadth of categories enables him to identify effective paths for each client’s workforce needs, balancing speed, cost, and risk. He has particular experience managing high-volume immigration programs for Fortune 500 companies and other large employers, ensuring that operational efficiency does not come at the expense of regulatory compliance.
I-9 & E-Verify Compliance
Christian advises clients on I-9 and E-Verify compliance, including large-scale audits, remediation, and policy design. He has led engagements involving the review of hundreds of employee files, identifying systemic violations and developing comprehensive remediation plans that transform compliance liabilities into institutional strengths. His work in this area extends beyond the audit itself to include policy updates, standard operating procedures, and training programs for HR and compliance teams, helping clients build durable compliance programs.
M&A & Corporate Transactions
Christian serves as the lead on immigration matters arising from mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings. His role encompasses assessing the immigration status of sponsored foreign national employees, determining the impact of corporate changes on existing petitions, developing continuity strategies to ensure uninterrupted work authorization, and preparing risk assessments for potential USCIS audits triggered by changes in corporate structure.
Complex Case Resolution
Christian regularly handles high-stakes matters requiring sophisticated legal analysis and creative advocacy. His experience includes responding to complex Requests for Evidence, Notices of Intent to Deny, and Notices of Intent to Revoke involving difficult statutory and evidentiary issues, as well as developing corporate policies for managing these enforcement trends consistently and effectively. His technical legal acumen, combined with a practical understanding of the business implications of individual case outcomes, enables him to deliver solutions that protect both the employer and the affected employee.
Corporate Immigration Policy Design
Christian partners with clients to develop, design, and implement comprehensive immigration policies that meet business and compliance requirements. His policy work covers sponsorship criteria, cost allocation and recoupment frameworks, premium processing guidelines, and permanent residency timing considerations. He has advised clients across a range of industries on aligning immigration policies with broader HR and talent management objectives, ensuring that policies are both legally defensible and operationally practical.
Client Service Across Industries
Christian’s practice encompasses an exceptionally broad range of industries and client types, including Fortune 500 companies, distinguished universities, healthcare institutions, biotechnology firms, information technology companies, automotive and engineering companies, financial services providers, and food and beverage businesses. This breadth of experience across sectors gives him a nuanced understanding of the industry-specific workforce challenges that drive immigration program design, enabling him to tailor solutions to the particular demands of each client’s business environment.
Thought Leadership & Publications
Christian is a frequent author and speaker on immigration law topics. He has contributed numerous articles to Law360, Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, and AILA on subjects ranging from H-1B quota analysis and L-1B specialized knowledge to PERM alternatives and employment authorization documents. He is a regular faculty presenter for Lawline.com and has lectured at industry symposia including the New England Bioscience Society Annual Symposium and the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers New England Symposium. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, where he has served on the DOL Liaison Committee, Business Section Steering Committee, and multiple liaison and advisory committees.
Christian’s legal career spans more than fifteen years and reflects steady progression across some of the most prominent corporate immigration practices in the country. A graduate of Fordham University School of Law (J.D., 2010), he began his legal career at Stephen Jeffries & Associates in New York, where he handled a wide range of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant matters, including EB-1A/B petitions, PERM labor certifications, National Interest Waivers, H-1B, TN, O-1, and J-1 waiver cases. He subsequently joined Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP in Dallas, where he managed a high-volume employment-based caseload for a Fortune 500 technology client and oversaw a team of four paralegals.
Christian then joined Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP, where he worked across the firm’s Boston and New York offices from 2013 to 2017. There, he managed a high-volume, multi-category caseload for major corporate clients—including a Fortune 500 technology company and a large IT consulting firm—advising on program design, risk management, scalability, and a full range of nonimmigrant and immigrant classifications. He also engaged in business development and published extensively on immigration topics during this period.
In early 2018, Christian served as Of Counsel at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta, where he managed an immigration team and advised clients in the manufacturing, chemical, and technology industries. He joined Goel & Anderson, LLC in April 2018 and was elevated to Partner in February 2025. At G&A, he leads corporate client accounts, directs cross-functional legal service teams of more than twenty attorneys, clerks, paralegals, and staff, and oversees thousands of immigration filings annually.
Prior to law school, Christian served as a First Lieutenant in the Republic of Korea Army (2004–2007), where he was awarded the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff Commendation for Meritorious Service.
