Career
Chris McLamb is a founding partner of Whistleblower Partners, where he exclusively represents whistleblowers in qui tam lawsuits and government reward programs. He has a particular focus on financial frauds involving the SEC, IRS, CFTC, and FinCEN whistleblower programs, having represented whistleblowers behind some of the largest and most complex financial scandals and tax disputes in the last decade. For example, Chris recently represented a whistleblower who shared in a $79 million award for exposing an offshore tax fraud—one of the largest awards ever paid under the IRS Whistleblower Program.
Although most of his clients remain anonymous, Chris has unique experience representing high-profile public whistleblowers. For nearly a decade, he has represented Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz, who helped expose rampant fraud by the "unicorn" startup that claimed to have revolutionized blood testing technology. He also represents Charlie Rawl, a whistleblower who exposed one of the largest Ponzi schemes in history, engineered by Allen Stanford, which caused $8 billion in losses to investors.
Chris also has extensive experience representing whistleblowers in qui tam lawsuits under the state and Federal False Claims Acts. He was part of the legal team that recovered over $138 million from the nation’s largest wireless carriers for allegedly overcharging the State of California and its local governments.
Chris has represented whistleblowers from all walks of life, from CEOs and senior compliance officials to construction safety workers and entry-level engineers. He knows that no one plans to be a whistleblower, and he has centered his practice on helping people from all backgrounds successfully navigate the unexpected when stepping forward to expose wrongdoing.
