Charles Harris is co-head of the Chicago Trusts and Estates practice and a member of Katten’s Board of Directors. He concentrates on tax and estate planning, primarily representing wealthy individuals and owners of closely held businesses. He assists private equity investors as they structure investments to optimize tax efficiency and plan their interest transfers to family members. He restructures stock ownership in closely held businesses, establishes family limited partnerships, develops business succession plans, and creates trusts and limited liability companies. His experience also includes planning for US citizens with foreign connections, tailoring strategies to meet their needs.
