Career
Catherine Warburton established Warburton Attorneys in December 2000 and has more than twenty years of experience in the field of environmental law in South Africa. Her experience has mainly been developed across a broad spectrum of infrastructure development and mining projects and the petroleum industry. Climate change related work has been a focal point at various stages during her career as well as biodiversity and protected areas work. Catherine's speciality is strategic planning and risk management at Board level and environmental litigation. She has presented countless courses, papers and presentations over the years and has contributed to international and domestic conferences and publications.She is currently advising on a number of mine closure projects and is acting in a criminal environmental prosecution for a multinational company.
