Caroline is a Partner and Head of the Family Law Department. She practices in all areas of family law to include divorce and dissolution with extensive experience negotiating the matrimonial finances of mid to high net worth individuals, both in and out of court. She also advises in respect of separation for unmarried couples in relation to jointly owned property and Schedule 1 proceedings.
Caroline has a particular focus on wealth protection, advising clients in respect of Pre and Post-Nuptial Agreements, and in respect of financial arrangements for unmarried families through Deeds of Trust and Cohabitation Agreements.
Caroline also advises clients in private law children matters including living and contact arrangements, specific issues such as schooling and relocation. Being a mum herself she is mindful to the emotions involved in Children Act proceedings and the importance of finding an arrangement that is in the best interest of the children and which works for the family. Where possible and practical she will work with clients to secure an arrangement which suits the family’s needs avoiding the need to involve the court.
Caroline manages her cases in an assertive and constructive fashion, assisting her clients to consider the benefits and costs (emotional and financial) of any steps. She is conscious that one size does not fit all and focuses on each client individually, managing expectations and providing guidance throughout.
Caroline studied for her LPC at the College of Law Guildford attaining a Distinction, qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and as a Mediator in 2012. She became Head of Department in 2021.
Caroline is a member of Resolution, a body of family lawyers and other professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.
