Career

Partner at PPU expert in Tax and International Trade matters. Carolina has positioned herself as an expert in tax planning, corporate reorganizations, and tax structuring of businesses, as well as of mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience in tax litigation before administrative and tax authorities.

Carolina has been lecturer at the Postgraduate programs in Tax Law at Rosario, Javeriana, and Andes universities in Colombia, and has also participated in several local and international academic events, both in Colombia and abroad. She is author of several articles on Tax Law in many Colombian and international publications. Actual President of the Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Tributario – ICDT (2021). International Tax Review (ITR) recognized her as Latin America Tax Litigation and Disputes Practice Leader of the year (2021). She was recognized as the Woman Tax Lawyer of the Year by the Colombian Institute of Tax Law and by the International Fiscal Association (2024).

Counsel to Lindcorp in devising and executing a creative and sophisticated corporate, foreign exchange and tax structure to acquire Prosalon, considering assets protection, tax planning and wealth management regulations both in Colombia and Peru.

Counsel to Bolsa de Valores de Colombia in the integration of the stock exchange markets of Colombia, Chile and Peru. This integration is a matter of the upmost importance since it will derive in the creation of one of the largest stock exchange markets in the continent, which will bring several benefits for our region. The legal advice from a tax point of view was centred in carrying out an analysis of all fiscal implications derived from all the operations to be carryout for the implementation of the merger of the stock exchange markets. To carry out this advice a thorough and deep analysis of all operations and its impacts had to be done.

Counsel to Fundación Cardio-Infantil Instituto de Cardiologia in the lawsuit against the official assessment issued by the Bogota Tax Authority, by which it determined the 2015 real estate tax.
