Carlos Alberto Sol De la Garza González

Carlos de la Garza focuses his practice on complex civil and commercial litigation, insurance and reinsurance disputes, banking and trust litigation, administrative litigation, commercial arbitration and constitutional proceedings (amparo).

He has more than 25 years of experience representing domestic and international insurers, banks, financial institutions, public entities and industrial companies in high-stakes disputes before federal and state courts throughout Mexico. His insurance practice includes coverage and policy interpretation disputes, civil liability and tort claims, non-material and punitive damages, and disputes arising from major property and casualty losses.

Carlos also acts as counsel in domestic and international commercial arbitrations, both institutional and ad hoc, involving private companies and state-owned entities.

Carlos de la Garza is managing partner and co-founder of De la Garza & Acosta Abogados, which he established with Raúl Acosta in 2017.

He has more than 25 years of experience in complex dispute resolution, including civil, commercial and administrative litigation, commercial arbitration, constitutional proceedings, insolvency matters and disputes involving the insurance, banking and financial services sectors.

Before founding De la Garza & Acosta, Carlos spent 19 years at a leading Mexican dispute resolution firm, where he served as a partner for nearly 12 years. He has acted in disputes throughout Mexico and has substantial experience in cross-border litigation and arbitration matters.
