Camilo’s practice focuses on the litigation and arbitration of complex international commercial and investor-state disputes. Recognized as a leading international arbitration lawyer by Chambers Global, Chambers Latin America, Chambers USA, Legal 500 and LatinVex, he is particularly regarded for his keen understanding of Latin American commercial arbitrations, advising clients in disputes across the region.

Camilo has handled numerous international commercial arbitration matters under the various international arbitration rules, including AAA/ICDR, ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC and in a variety of forums, including the U.S. and the UK. He also has substantial experience handling disputes under investment treaties and disputes related to oil & gas as well as large infrastructure projects.

In addition, Camilo represents clients before U.S. state and federal courts in litigation related to arbitration issues, including the enforcement of awards, applications to obtain evidence in aid of arbitration, and seeking preliminary relief. An experienced New York litigator who holds a law degree from a civil law jurisdiction in South America, Camilo provides added value to clients concerning civil law or the intricacies of Latin America-centred disputes.
