Practice Areas
Regulatory law specialist with an emphasis on consumer law, fraud, product safety, health and safety, fire safety, food safety and life sciences. He has represented clients in some of the most significant and high-profile cases in his areas of specialism over the last twenty years, in both the criminal and civil jurisdictions.
He has acted as leading junior, leading other barristers, in multiple large-scale, national prosecutions brought by national regulators, as well as for large corporates and their directors during both investigations and prosecutions, advising on issues of compliance, strategy and, ultimately, representing them in court.
Career
He began in a common law set, undertaking the full spectrum of work available, included PI, general crime, regulatory law and public law. This general background allows him to specialise but retain broad knowledge and experience to advise in his chosen specialisms in relation to both criminal and civil cases, as well as judicial review.
He has conducted countless jury trials, making him one of the few genuine regulatory law specialists with considerable jury trial experience, whilst his civil experience has enabled him to appear in safety notice appeals, applications for enforcement orders and injunctions, and in judicial review proceedings.
Appointed to List A on the Unified List of Specialist Regulatory Advocates and Recorder of the Crown Court.
