Career

Calvin is a partner based in our Beijing office. Calvin is a corporate and commercial lawyer focused in the energy, natural resources and transportation sectors. Calvin advises Asian and international clients in the energy, transport and natural resources sectors on their complex cross-border acquisitions, disposals, project development and financing projects. He regularly advises clients on complex multi-billion dollar transactions and major projects worldwide. Calvin has particular experience in the oil and gas, LNG, refining and power sectors and has experience throughout the supply chain from upstream acquisition, field development, production, transportation, storage, refining and distribution. He supports clients on M&A transactions, upstream acquisitions, project development, project financing, EPC, procurement and construction contracts, offtake and trading contracts, commercial and shipping agreements, joint ventures and general corporate and commercial matters. Calvin has a general commercial background with a deep understanding of the industries with which he works. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as a ship charterer and trader for a major Singapore-based shipping and trading conglomerate. Calvin also worked as an in-house lawyer at a major shipping conglomerate in Singapore. With his broad commercial background and in-depth legal experience, Calvin is regularly praised for understanding the key commercial, as well as legal, drivers of even the most complex transactions.
