Byron is an International Arbitration partner based in our Hong Kong office, with more than fifteen years of experience in advising clients on complex, high-value, cross-border commercial disputes. His practice focuses on the technology, energy, sport, financial services, and life sciences sectors.

Byron leads on cross-border arbitration matters involving multiple jurisdictions and governing laws, and has acted in proceedings under all major institutional and ad hoc rules, including ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, LCIA, CIETAC, and UNCITRAL.

He also handles national court proceedings in relation to all aspects of the arbitration process including jurisdiction challenges, applications for injunctions, and the enforcement of awards.

With his strong focus on technology-related disputes, Byron has extensive experience in arbitration and litigation involving cybersecurity, data privacy and all aspects of digital transformation and energy transition. He helps clients navigate evolving risk landscapes and leverage technology effectively in arbitration and litigation contexts. As technology continues to transform the legal landscape across arbitration, litigation, and investigations, Byron provides strategic guidance that supports clients in mitigating risks and optimising technological solutions for resolving high-value disputes.

Byron leads the Asia Pacific Pro Bono Practice at Hogan Lovells Cadwalader, with a passionate commitment to community investment. He is also a member of the Hogan Lovells Cadwalader Crisis Leadership Team, the firm’s global, multi-disciplinary crisis management practice, and holds senior positions in HLC Inclusion initiatives.
