Career
Bernice Lee is a Partner at Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton, and focuses her practice on bankruptcy, receiverships, and complex commercial litigation. She has extensive experience in all aspects of reorganizations, liquidations, receiverships, and insolvency related litigation. She regularly represents creditors, business debtors, investors, receivers, and trustees. Recently, Bernice has represented stakeholders in cases involving real estate, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, aviation, Ponzi schemes and other fraud, and mass tort claims. Bernice also serves as a court-appointed receiver in federal equity receiverships, including MJ Capital Funding, LLC and three related companies that were used to operate a $200 million Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of investors, and Location Ventures, LLC, Urbin, LLC and 20 related companies that the SEC alleges that Rishi Kapoor used to raise over $90 million for investment in real estate projects through a series of material misrepresentations and omissions in violation of securities laws.
