Bernardo Leite advises clients on various issues and matters related to international trade and competition law. The clients taken care of by him are relevant players in diverse industries, such as chemical, metal industries, capital goods, construction and materials, and energy.

Bernardo’s international trade practice includes counselling national and foreign clients on diverse trade matters, such as trade remedies (dumping, subsidies, and safeguards), bilateral and regional agreements, and customs law before the Brazilian administrative and judicial bodies.

Bernardo also has a strong background assisting Brazilian companies before foreign authorities, working closely with clients and foreign partner firms in trade remedies (dumping, subsidies, and safeguard) and other trade related barrier procedures, which include the authorities of Argentina, Canada, the European Union, and the United States of America.

Bernardo has competition law practice expertise, advising and representing national and foreign companies on conduct investigations, such as cartel and unilateral practices, the negotiation of agreements with antitrust authorities,and developing compliance programs.

Bernardo holds a specialization in Business Economics (a Master’s in Business Economics) from the School of Economics of Fundação Getúlio Vargas – EESP/FGV) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). He participated in the Trade Policy Training Program at the Brazilian Embassy in the U.S.A., and he was a coordinator of the Committee on International Trade of IBRAC. Bernardo is a member of the ABCI Institute (Instituto de Analistas Brasileiros de Comércio Internacional), and is the author of papers published by different publications, periodicals, and books.
