Barbara Mutsaers

Barbara Mutsaers is an attorney-at-law and Industry Leader Food & Life Sciences at AKD. She specialises in commercial contracting, litigation and regulatory matters related to pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices and other (consumer) products. Barbara is recognised as a Leading Individual in both Food and Healthcare & Life Sciences by Legal 500.

She advises and litigates on contractual and on regulatory matters, providing national and international companies with strategic legal assistance. Her expertise includes:

- Commercial contracts - drafting and negotiating various agreements, including manufacturing, supply, distribution, agency,

collaboration and R&D agreements

- Sector-specific legislation – interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks

- Product regulation & regulatory compliance – which includes for example advising on market access, clinical trials, recalls, claims,

inducements and advertisement compliance as well as handling disputes and discussions with supervisory bodies such as the

Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), Skal, and the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ)

- Liability and disputes – advising on and resolving conflicts regarding the conclusion, execution, and termination of commercial

agreements and/or torts.
