Career
Arturo González is a trial lawyer and chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Commercial Litigation and Trial Practice Group. He is a Fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and an associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. He specializes in high-stakes, bet-the-company litigation and trials. Judges have praised his trial skills, calling his “trial advocacy skills were superior” and “phenomenal.”
Arturo was lead trial counsel for Uber in the high-profile Waymo v. Uber litigation regarding the future of autonomous vehicles. After four days of trial, the case was settled on terms that were very favorable for Uber. He has successfully defended three other trials where the plaintiffs sought more than $1 billion, including a trade secrets case on behalf of Cypress Semiconductor. He also represented a national bank in a class action trial. The bank prevailed on all claims but one, and the California Supreme Court ruled in favor of the bank on that claim. His third billion-dollar victory was successfully representing a director of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum sued for fraud by the Oakland Raiders.
