Arlette Putker-Blees is known for a solution-orientated and hands-on approach. She specializes in all aspects of (corporate) employment law for instance termination law (collective and individual), reorganizations, dismissals (and buy-outs) of directors, corporate governance, fraud, transgressive behaviour, privacy issues and transfers of undertakings. She frequently advises on and handles disputes regarding fraud and transgressive behaviour cases. She regularly litigates before courts and is also an active mediator. Furthermore she assists management and works councils in complex advisory processes, such as M&A and reorganisations.

Arlette has broad experience in the field of investigations in all kind of sectors. The matters vary from fraud and corruption to other forms of misconduct, including transgressive behaviour. She regularly serves as trusted advisor to board and management.

Arlette extensive experience includes the healthcare, hospitality, business services, private equity and financial sectors.

Arlette gives courses on employment law topics. Examples are: guest lectureship at Erasmus University for the Financial Forensic Expert Course about the privacy aspects of fraud and investigation in employment law. Furthermore she is a lecturer at the Deloitte Leading Women on Boards Program. Subject of the course is transgressive behaviour and the position of the board and the supervisory board.

Being an entrepreneur herself, she understands what drives a company and the challenges an organisation faces.

Career

Arlette started her career at EY in 1989 as a corporate lawyer before continuing as an employment and corporate lawyer at cassation law firm Buruma & Maris in 1990. She then worked at Stibbe for 15 years, where she focussed solely on employment law. Internships at Washington (Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin Kahn) and London (Ashurst Morris Crisp) taught her that she can easily make connections and add value, also in an international partnership.

Arlette is a member of Vereniging Arbeidsrechtadvocaten Nederland (VAAN), Vereniging Privacyrecht (VPR), Vereniging van Advocaten in de Arrondissementen Amsterdam en Noord-Holland (VAAA), and the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA).
