Angel specializes in mining law, environmental law and public management.
With more than 20 years of experience at state entities linked to the mining sector, Angel recently served as Regulatory Director of the General Directorate of Mining Environmental Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Mines. He was General Director of the Mining Concessions Directorate and formerly counsel to the Institutional Presidency of the Geological Mining and Metallurgical Institute – INGEMMET.
Angel has a Diploma in Strategic Environmental Assessment from the UNEP / CEDDET Foundation, a Diploma of Specialization in Interculturality, Indigenous Populations and Afro-descendant from Universidad Ricardo Palma and the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, and a Diploma in Mining and Environment Law from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. He has participated in the Developing a Community Engagement Framework for Sustainable Mining in Peru Program from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) – Brisbane (Australia) & the Environmental Management in Mining Program from The International Mining for Development Centre´s (IM4DC) & University of Queensland – Brisbane (Australia).
During his professional career, he influenced the rules governing the mining sector and has set several precedents in these laws. He has been a conference speaker on mining and environmental subjects.
