A specialist in energy regulation and project development, Andreina has significant experience advising commercial banks, international financial institutions, and sponsors on the financing of energy and infrastructure projects. Her work spans the negotiation of power purchase agreements, grid connection contracts, and other essential agreements related to the development of energy projects, with a particular focus on non-conventional renewable energy sources. She has also provided regulatory counsel, assisting clients in submissions and actions before Chile’s Ministry of Energy, National Energy Commission, Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels, and the Office of the Comptroller General. Her experience includes representing clients in disputes before the Expert Panel on electricity matters and in judicial claims before the high courts challenging decisions by the Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels.
She holds an LL.M. from Columbia University Law School, where she was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and earned her degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the University of Los Andes. Her previous roles include positions in the Energy and Infrastructure group at Clifford Chance in Washington, D.C., and in the Energy and Regulated Markets team at Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría. She also served as Of Counsel, and later Senior Associate, at Quintanilla Busel Niedmann from January 2019 to May 2020, further strengthening her expertise in regulatory and project finance matters within the energy sector.
