Andreas Boos

With 20 years of experience in all areas of German and European competition law, Dr. Andreas Boos is one of the leading competition lawyers in Germany, according to international publications such as Wirtschaftswoche, Handelsblatt and Who’s Who Legal.

In his legal career, he has defended numerous clients in cartel investigations by the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission, and represented clients before the German and European courts. In the field of merger control, Andreas has expertise in strategically challenging transactions, complex private equity structures and joint ventures. Andreas also has extensive experience in competition-law damages claims (on both the claimant and the defence sides), distribution law, abuse proceedings and preventative compliance consultation. Andreas also advises clients on German Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) law and coordinates FDI filings worldwide.

Andreas has professional proficiency in the languages of German and English.

He studied Law at the University of Freiburg and was awarded Doctor of Laws in competition law in 2002. Internships at international law firms in Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Brussels, London and New York. Established and developed the Antitrust & Competition practice group of Milbank LLP (Munich). 2012-2021 Chair of the Munich regional division of the German Competition Law Association (Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht). 2004-2012 Guest lecturer at Columbia University New York.
