Career
Amanda Michaels has a wealth of experience in the field of media & entertainment as well as in wider intellectual property matters.
She has dealt with innumerable copyright and design disputes, many in the fashion and entertainment industries. She has acted for copyright owners, film, TV and record companies, and collection societies, as well as for SMEs and individuals in the music/record industry, films, advertising, television, and publishing, from Tolkien to Monty Python and “Jonny Rotten” of the Sex Pistols.
Amanda read law at the University of Durham before taking a Masters in Advanced European Studies at the College of Europe, Bruges. She speaks fluent French.
Whilst continuing in practice at the Bar, Amanda Michaels regularly sits part-time in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court. She is also an Appointed Person under the Trade Marks Act 1994.

Amanda Michaels is well-known for her specialism in trade mark and passing off litigation and TM registration and is the author with Andrew Norris KC of the popular book ‘A Practical Guide to Trade Mark Law’.
