Career

Alvaro Gasca is partner of Durán & Osorio Abogados since 2015 and member of the Firm since 2010. He leads the Energy area and co-leads the Projects and Banking & Finance areas.

Mr. Gasca graduated from Universidad de Los Andes and holds post-graduate degrees in corporate finance from Colegio de Estudios Superiores en Administración – CESA and in energy mining law and sustainable development from Universidad de Los Andes.

He has participated in the structuring, financing, and execution of some of the most relevant infrastructure projects in Colombia, in different sectors including road, mass transportation, housing and social and cultural infrastructure. He is a renowned expert in Public-Private Partnerships and project finance.

Particularly, Mr Gasca led the legal advice on the structuring and financing for the First Metro Line of Bogota (including the execution of credit agreements with multilateral entities and the issuance of dematerialized promissory notes); Cundinamarca’s Regiotram de Occidente (West Commuter Rail); Phases II and III of Transmilenio System in Soacha; and Bogotá´s Bosa Hospital -the first social infrastructure PPP project in the country´s history-. He also led the legal advice on the structuring of some of the Fourth Generation of Road Concessions - 4G projects; the Avenida 80 Metro Line; and the Valle del Cauca and Regiotram del Norte suburban trains, among others.
