Alexander Plows focuses primarily on insurance/reinsurance matters and dispute resolution, including by way of domestic and international arbitration.
Alexander has extensive experience in acting for foreign and domestic insurers and reinsurers with respect to complex claims and disputes under insurance policies and reinsurance contracts. He has particular experience in relation to financial lines, professional liability (including FIPI), D&O, comprehensive crime, M&A insurance, product liability, energy and business interruption insurance matters.
Alexander also assists international insurers, reinsurers and claims handling companies (including those operating on the London market) on a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from regulatory questions, reinsurance commutations, the development of policy wordings to insurance intermediary issues. In addition, Alexander has extensive experience acting for clients in international arbitrations (institutional and ad hoc), domestic arbitrations and litigation (particularly domestic arbitration/litigation involving an international element). In particular, he frequently represents companies in such international disputes in the energy, oil and gas, construction and reinsurance sectors.
Alexander acts as a foreign law expert on issues of Norwegian law (including in litigation outside of Norway).
